Education and Training
With a passion and desire for understanding human behavior at an early age I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology. Also having a passion for nutrition, and knowing what is happening around the world with our health, obesity and disordered eating crisis, I knew that there is a massive missing link in healing from unwanted eating habits that extends beyond exactly what we are eating and really requires exploring who we are as eaters. The way we think and feel about ourselves is how we are showing up in the world... and to our dinner tables. Hence, our mindset cultivates our reality. If we are not happy with any area of our lives...things can only truly change when we shift our mindset.
I didn't want to learn about diets, meal planning or meal supplements. I wanted to get to the root of the problem. This work is an inside job... it requires looking at mind, body and spirit. It is my life's purpose to ignite or reignite women's desire for achieving health, harmony and healing disordered eating from a holistic perspective.
At the Institute for the Psychology of Eating, the world’s leading school in Nutritional Psychology, I learned powerful cutting-edge tools and protocols that enable me to work with weight issues, body image challenges, overeating, binge eating, and a variety of nutrition related health concerns such as digestion, fatigue, mood and immunity.
The EDIT method that I use guides clients to improve body image, make peace with food through intuitive eating, develop healthy coping skills, enhance overall Self-Care, learn how to prevent relapse – and much more. The overall outcome is “complete recovery” – where the individual is free of eating disorder behaviors, and has reconnected with their True Self.
I have been trained by many brilliant instructors and mentors from a variety of health and healing modalities including Holistic Nutrition, Shamanism, Meditation, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Art Therapy, Energy Healing, Reiki, Naturopathy, Homeopathy and more.
I draw upon the wisdom of these teachings to provide a balanced, personalized and holistic approach to improving nutrition, health and healing. I bring my passion into my work while my knowledge and intuitive gifts allow me to coach my clients in a way that lovingly supports their core needs, values and highest good. I have the utmost respect and regard for the client/coach relationship.
My Personal Experience
Since my passion is health, wellness, nutrition, healing, the psychology of eating and our mind/body connection; my current lifestyle is a reflection of my knowledge. Yet, throughout my twenties and into my thirties, I had a very different lifestyle. I had an exhausting, unhealthy relationship with food for many years, resulting in constant fatigue, poor body image, digestive issues, skin problems and a 40 pound weight rollercoaster ride.
I was disconnected from the true me and I felt trapped. I knew that I was responsible for my health, but I didn’t really know how to fix it. I ate salads and went to the gym. However, as you might have discovered as well…that is not really the solution.
Through my own journey, education and training I have learned how to reprogram and unwind from the toxic beliefs and negativity, tune into body wisdom, elevate my mood, lose the weight, heal my digestion, cultivate unshakable confidence and improve my body image. I learned to not waste anymore precious time with the depleting cycle of food/body issues. I learned how to reconnect with the parts that I neglected, integrate mindfulness and energetically shift in a profound way.
I want everyone to feel their best and let their beautiful, unique radiance shine. I want every woman to embrace her whole self and have an unapologetic approach to loving herself and loving life. A true, lasting lifestyle transformation is a magical experience that you cannot help but want to share and use the experience to serve others.
A little more….
When I’m not reading, doing yoga, going to immersive theater with my husband, hanging with my sons, finding new adventures or eating a pound of blueberries, you would find me outside on a nice day, barefoot. I absolutely love staring at the sky… I get lost in the beauty of nature.
I also love a glass or two of champagne with loved ones. ;)
I was introduced to meditation almost 30 years ago and it is a massive part of my life. I am always interested in learning and trying something new and challenging like a ropes course or a mud run. I deeply value heart to heart connections, synchronicities, miracles, non-judgment, surrender and I truly value the lesson in all of our experiences.
I love anything and anyone who makes me laugh…
I have transformed the pain, obstacles and challenges in my life into powerful lessons and catalysts to become who I want to be. I am an eternal optimist, a problem solver and quite adept at finding the silver lining. I believe that every mistake has a wonderful lesson, every pain has powerful message and every obstacle has a purpose.
