Self-care is no longer a wistful luxury, it's a necessity for coping with daily life and a requirement for thriving during these uncertain and often difficult times. Undervaluing self-care depletes our energy, deteriorates our health and puts stress on our most cherished relationships...and of course allows disordered eating habits to progress. In order to set ourselves up to live in our own optimal ways, transformational self-care is the way.
Self-care is crucial for healing your relationship with food, and in the ways that I teach, it becomes a powerful catalyst for growth inside of the Eating Intelligence® Mentorship Program. For many women, common self-care ideas that come to mind are manicures or massages. While those are lovely treats, they are not transformational self-care and will not support your healing your relationship with food. (They are more like bandaids when we might need stitches). Even exercising, while deeply valuable and essential for health, will not heal your relationship with food. Your relationship with food heals as you heal your relationship with yourself and learn how to honor and take care of your needs and desires.
